At Omnia Dental Arts, we are committed to saving damaged teeth and restoring their health and function. However, tooth extraction is sometimes the only viable option to address your oral health needs. Our skilled and experienced dental care team is committed to providing exceptional, personalized care and ensuring your time with us is comfortable and free of stress.
Wisdom teeth, also known as the third molars, are known for causing a host of dental complications. They are often impacted or trapped in the jawbone, which can lead to infection or damage to the nearby teeth and bone. Our team may recommend the removal of wisdom teeth that are problematic or those with the potential to cause future complications.
We offer two main types of extractions: simple and surgical. Teeth that are visible and easily accessible require simple extractions. Surgical extractions, on the other hand, are more involved procedures that may be necessary for weak, impacted, or broken teeth or those with complicated and curved root structures.
Make sure to follow the post-extraction care instructions we provide to promote healing and ensure a smooth recovery. We recommend refraining from smoking, drinking through a straw, spitting, or rinsing vigorously for a couple of days after your procedure to avoid dislodging the blood clot forming in the socket. Otherwise, you risk a painful complication known as dry socket.
Make sure to eat only soft foods and avoid brushing around the extraction site for a few days. If you have pain or swelling, use cold compresses and your prescribed pain-relief medications for relief. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office for guidance.
If you have a damaged or painful tooth, contact Omnia Dental Arts to schedule a consultation. Our dedicated team will do everything possible to repair the affected tooth and restore its health and function. If, however, extracting a tooth is the only viable option, you can count on us for outstanding, gentle care.
